The program runs from January to December.

There is a yearly $350 fee. Scholarships are available. Sibling discount applied.

LDP meets in four places: Congregation B’nai Torah (CBT), Gesher L’Torah (GLT), Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA), and Temple Sinai (TS).

Jewish teens in grades 8 & 9 are welcome to apply in every location. LDP @ GLT and LDP @ JFGA also accept applications from 10th & 11th graders. LDP @ CBT also accepts 10th graders.

On average, there are monthly LDP sessions and outreach programs. A more detailed calendar will be provided. Our Spring 2024 Calendar can be viewed here.

•  During each LDP session, young adult mentors facilitate small group discussions and help teens dive into the curriculum topics.

Community Programs

LDP participants also get hands-on volunteer experience through our community programs, including:

Smile Bag packing and distributions to our agency partners

  Neighborhood collections of needed resources

Smaller-scale academic and activity-based programs called GOAL programs

  Festivals and Celebrations

  Amy’s Holiday Party

LDP Sessions

Sessions will be held on Sunday afternoons or on weekday evenings and take place in four locations: Congregation B’nai Torah (CBT), Gesher L’Torah (GLT), Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA), and Temple Sinai (TS). To see our LDP 2024 spring session calendar, click here.

Each LDP session is facilitated by our young adult mentors and supported by CCC’s Experiential Education Director. These mentors work directly with the teens throughout the year to create a comfortable and relatable environment in which the teens can grow and learn.

These topics will be covered in the interactive and experiential education and program planning sessions:

  • Community building and Jewish leadership
  • Understanding mission and vision
  • Identifying community needs
  • Understanding families experiencing hardship and advocacy work
  • Empathy building
  • Jewish philanthropy
  • Applying fundraising skills & strategies to LDP’s Annual Fall Fundraiser
  • Program planning and implementation
