Creating Connected Communities’ exciting new positions offer opportunities to support a growing nonprofit in making a tremendous impact on hundreds of Jewish teen volunteers and thousands of children and families experiencing hardship across Atlanta.  In these positions, you will work collaboratively with our team to provide significant support and much-needed resources to our community. These positions offer significant flexibility and the opportunity to make this role your own, utilizing your specific skills and experience.   

A little bit about us: 
Creating Connected Communities’ mission is to enhance the lives of children and families experiencing hardship by empowering teens to become community leaders and volunteers. Through 40+ community outreach programs, including its signature Program, Amy’s Holiday Party, CCC serves 8,000+ children and families each year and offers hundreds of teen volunteer opportunities annually.  At these programs, children receive meals, books, gifts, educational support, community-building experiences, and much-needed resources. CCC’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an up to 4 year-long experiential-learning program that empowers Jewish teens in 8th-12th grade to develop their Jewish identity, values, and leadership skills as they implement these programs.  CCC currently engages 315 teens in LDP across Atlanta. Senior Director, Finance & Operations

Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $77,000 – $85,000  

Position Summary: 

The Senior Director, Finance & Operations plays a key leadership role in advancing CCC’s mission by overseeing finance, operations, marketing, and human resources. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, this role provides strategic and hands-on support to ensure effective organizational performance and sustainability. While this position offers significant flexibility, CCC is a hybrid working environment where team members are expected to attend weekly team meetings and other CCC-related events and meetings in person, as needed.

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership 

  • Supervise, guide, evaluate, and support staff in finance, operations, marketing, and HR. 
  • Prepare Board meeting materials and maintain the online Board portal. 
  • Staff the Finance and Governance Committees, coordinating with committee chairs to develop agendas, prepare materials, and follow up with members. 
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to implement the strategic plan and assign actionable strategies across staff and Board committees. 

Financial Management 

  • Oversee all financial operations with support from the Bookkeeper and Accountant, including accounts payable/receivable and payroll. 
  • Develop and manage monthly and annual financial reports. 
  • Ensure internal controls and separation of accounting duties. 
  • Lead annual budgeting and mid-year forecasting in collaboration with departments. 
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions and oversee banking, investments, and credit cards. 
  • Coordinate with external auditors or financial reviewers as designated by the Board. 
  • Create grant proposal budgets and financial reports for development needs. 
  • Contribute to annual fundraising strategy to meet financial goals. 

Operations Management 

  • Evaluate and implement systems and processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Maintain and update the organizational “playbook.” 
  • Oversee database management, ensuring data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and standards. 
  • Manage contracts, waivers, and vendor relationships. 
  • Serve as IT administrator in collaboration with the external IT provider. 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local nonprofit regulations. 
  • Act as HR Officer in consultation with an HR Consultant, including onboarding, compliance, and policy implementation. 
  • Oversee insurance coverage and serve as liaison to insurance providers. 
  • Administer employee benefits and serve as point of contact with vendors. 

Other 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and success of CCC.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience in financial and operational management, including staff supervision. 
  • Proven ability to manage financial models, reporting, forecasting, and compliance. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and database management. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. 
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and mission-driven. 
  • Passion for CCC’s dual mission of youth leadership and community support. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial, operational, and organizational leadership.

Leadership Development Program Mentor

Reports to: Experiential Education Director
Status: Part-time, non-exempt
Salary: $30/hour

Creating Connected Communities (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide life-enhancing programs for children experiencing hardship by empowering teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers. CCC is committed to being an inclusive organization that represents our community and is dedicated to meeting the needs of families from diverse ethnic, social, religious, and economic backgrounds.  

CCC’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) engages Jewish teens in grades 8–12 in meaningful and interactive community service, supporting thousands of children and families each year. We teach critical leadership skills and empower hundreds of teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers across Atlanta. With locations hosted at Temple Sinai, Congregation B’nai Torah, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the 2025 cohort enrolled 315 teens.    

Under the direction of the Experiential Educator Director, the LDP Mentors are responsible for implementing the LDP curriculum and community outreach programs. Mentors work with the Education Director to continually improve the program and implement growth plans. The LDP curriculum is experiential, informal, and project based. There are group discussions and activities, guest speakers, and more. The mentors will be responsible for facilitating 10 of these sessions per year using a pre-written curriculum. There is a once-a-month mentor training session with the Education Director. There are also monthly CCC community outreach programs where the mentors will sign up to assist with set up, implementation, and clean up, pending availability. Most importantly, mentors serve as role models for our teens, empowering them to be engaged, knowledgeable, empathetic, and passionate leaders.

LDP Curriculum focus areas include: 

  • Community building and Jewish leadership
  • Understanding mission and vision
  • Identifying community needs
  • Understanding families experiencing hardship and advocacy work
  • Empathy building
  • Jewish philanthropy
  • Applying fundraising skills & strategies to LDP’s Annual Fall Fundraiser
  • Program planning and implementation

An ideal candidate will:  

  • Have experience working with teens or experience in a leadership role in an informal educational/camp/youth group setting
  • Have a dynamic personality with a strong presence
  • Can “command a room” and connect easily with others
  • Work as a team player and demonstrate passion for CCC’s work
  • Be responsible, trustworthy, mature, organized, and demonstrate good time management skills
  • Have good communication skills and attends to deadlines

Job specifications: 

  • LDP has 3 locations meeting on 4 evenings with 10 sessions per year per location. LDP sessions are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm, with a few “all locations” sessions on Sundays. Mentors are expected to arrive by 6:30pm and stay until 9:15pm for set up and clean up. Mentors can work at one or multiple locations.
  • Outreach programs occur on weekday afternoons and weekends. Mentors will be asked to sign up to attend as their schedule allows.
  • Mentors must be able to commit approximately 6-10 hours/month for curriculum prep, training sessions, LDP sessions, and programs.
  • Each LDP cohort runs January-December with a break in LDP sessions in June-July
  • The LDP Mentors are paid $30/hour for all CCC programs, meetings, and other activities they attend.
