“You are amazing and running an incredible program. Molly can’t wait for CCC and talks about things she has learned or gained from the sessions with excitement and enthusiasm (as compared to the typical short answers I get on other topics). She is so excited to take small leadership roles and seems to flourish by being able to take on leadership and hopes to grow in this area. Thanks for beautifully nourishing this skill and value – it is so treasured.”

— Laura, parent of a LDP teen

“Last night, my family and I served dinner to the residents of the Zaban Couples Shelter.  After serving, we all went to sit and eat with the residents.  To my surprise, Jason went over to a table with only one open seat, and sat down with a bunch of residents by himself.  I then overheard him talking freely and comfortably with them.  The rest of my family sat with the residents as well, but we were all together.  I just wanted to describe the situation to you, because I think that Jason’s experience with CCC was one of the main reasons that he was so outgoing and felt so comfortable conversing with the residents.  I could tell that they really enjoyed his company and his kindness.  He definitely learned a lot from his experience with you and I wanted to thank you for giving him that opportunity.”

“It’s amazing to see the consideration, energy, and love that Amy’s Holiday Party gives to less fortunate families throughout Atlanta.  We look forward to attending this event every year and are so grateful for this opportunity for our clients.”

“I could not be more thankful for the opportunities and experiences I have had with Creating Connected Communities and Amy’s Holiday Party over the past four years. Through being part of the initial start of LDP and helping shape the program to what it now is, I have learned invaluable lessons about how to be a leader in my community. It can be very difficult as a teen to impact your community directly, but CCC has given me the opportunity. Through these experiences, I am now certain in my hopes to begin a nonprofit organization sometime in the future, and hopefully help grow CCC by bringing the holiday party to my college campus. My skills developed through my time in this organization, such as learning how to ask for corporate support or donations, are experiences that are incomparable to other teens my age. I am so incredibly appreciative for all of the experiences that CCC, LTP, and AHP have provided me with and how the organization has shown me the difference I can make in my community.”

— Ashley, LDP participant

“Over the past few years, participating with CCC has impacted me in countless ways. As I have participated with this organization, I have been able to learn many important skills and have even grown as a person. Serving on the teen committee has forced me to make speeches or lead activities in front of a large audience, something at first I was not comfortable with. Participating with this organization has also taught me the value of challenging my comfort zones. With the support of my peers and the mentors, I completed tasks that have given me confidence that I have applied to school and other areas of my life.  As I have watched the organization grow, the most significant thing I have learned is that you can truly make a difference. Seeing how meaningful these events are to so many people has opened my eyes to the necessity of community service throughout my life. Because of the impact this organization has made in my life, I have started volunteering with many other organizations and has even led me to want to pursue a career that can positively impact peoples’ lives. The skills and lessons I have learned from CCC are invaluable; whether it is with college interviews, job interviews, school, or even another community service project, these skills can be applied to everything and anything I do.”

— Nicole, LDP participant

“David was the only nominee in his school to be chosen for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for his work with Amy’s Party and CCC. He had to write an essay and fill out a big application. The essay is great!! It’s all about CCC and how he met you before his bar mitzvah and has viewed you as his mentor throughout high school.  It showcases all the good your organization does! We couldn’t be more thankful for everything you and CCC have given him and taught him over the years.”

–Lisa, parent of a LDP participant

“Amy’s Holiday Party gives all of us a chance to forget about how difficult our lives are for just a few hours and enjoy time with our kids.  We would never be able to provide them with the kind of gifts and experiences they get at this party.  It is a dream come true and we are so thankful for all you do for us.  We get to feel special and our kids get to feel normal on this day.”

–LaKenya, former guest of Amy’s Holiday Party and current volunteer

“The work I did with CCC and Amy’s Holiday Party really helped shape my perspective on community and responsibility as well as planning and organizational skills.”

— Stefanie, LDP alumni
